My Story

My name is Victor Alesi, and I am the founder of J.R.E.A.C.H. Freedom from Addiction Services. Born on March 28, 1977, my life has been a testament to resilience and redemption.

From a young age, I faced harrowing challenges. I was sexually abused at 7, and by 9, I was caught up with gang members, carrying a gun and using drugs. My childhood was marked by the absence of a father and the brutality of a stepfather who physically and emotionally abused me. I was often told I would amount to nothing, but those words only fueled my determination to rise above my circumstances.

As I struggled with the trauma of my past, I turned to substances to cope. My journey through addiction led me to use marijuana and alcohol, which spiraled into a dependency on cocaine, prescription pills, heroin, and meth. For seven years, I battled addiction through intravenous use, all while grappling with severe mental health issues, including bipolar disorder, PTSD, and borderline personality disorder. I became a shell of the man I could have been, with 36 felony convictions to my name.

Tragedy struck again when my son was murdered by his mother just two weeks before my birthday in 2007. The aftermath of that loss was devastating, compounded by the chaos that surrounded my daughter’s life. Yet, amidst this darkness, I found a glimmer of hope.

In 2019, I reached a turning point. I embraced my faith in Jesus Christ, who delivered me from the chains of addiction and despair. His love transformed my life in ways I never thought possible. I found sobriety, regained my mental health, and broke free from the cycle of abuse and addiction.

Today, I proudly run my own drug program, dedicated to helping others who have faced similar struggles. I graduated from Ivy Tech and am on the verge of graduating again, proving that change is possible. My mission is to inspire and empower others to find freedom from addiction and mental health conditions through faith and the transformative power of Jesus.

I stand as a testament to the fact that no matter how dark your past may be, there is always a path to redemption and hope. Together, we can overcome addiction and mental health conditions to reclaim our lives.
